Carbon Monoxide Safety Test

When most homeowners think of home safety they think of locks and security systems. But there is at least one other hazard that could negatively affect your home and family – carbon monoxide.

You can’t smell or see this gas but it can certainly kill you. Many times, a fuel-burning appliance is the source of this deadly gas. But it’s possible to be attacked by carbon monoxide even if you don’t have fuel-burning equipment.

Carbon monoxide safety test is necessary

  • Performed by a trained professional
  • A thorough inspection of your heating system can determine if there is a potential problem
Carbon monoxide monitors
  • Quality monitoring equipment is especially important if there are infants, young children and older people living in the home. People who are sick or suffer from immune deficiency may also be at risk.
  • A top quality carbon monoxide monitor should be part of the safety and comfort equipment in your home.
  • Are designed to alert you before the gas reaches a dangerous level in the home.
  • We can help identify which type of monoxide monitor is best for your home.

There is a difference in the quality of monitors
You should know that the best monitors detect minute levels of carbon monoxide in the air, while less-expensive models available at discount and retail stores provide little or no protection until levels are beyond practical safety levels. We recommend that you invest a few more dollars to get a high-quality monitor for each level of your home. If you intend to mount the carbon monoxide monitor yourself, be sure to place it no lower than eye level. This deadly gas is lighter than the surrounding air and will accumulate well above floor level.
Even if you don’t suspect carbon monoxide problems, contact a professional for a carbon monoxide safety test.  The technicians at Blue Stream also perform this test as part of your regular seasonal maintenance
